Q: I've noticed a few changes, I thought I.S.S. was based on Star Trek.
A: While our roots can be found in the episode Mirror, Mirror of Star Trek, we now encompass all forms of Science and Science Fiction.
Q: Who can I talk to?
A: Genereal questions from our visitors can be addressed to

Q: So what do our elected officials do?
A: President:The President runs all meetings, is the liaison between I.S.S. and other organizations, and fills in for Officers.
Vice President:Fulfills duties as assigned by the President, fills in for the President, and is the spokesperson between the Officers and the membership.
Secretary: The Secretary is in charge of most of the paperwork, including meeting minutes, and is in charge of overseeing the Publications of I.S.S. including the Web Site.
Treasurer: Is in charge of all finances for I.S.S., maintains the budget, and is oversees fundraising.
Event Coordinator: The E.C. oversees the Fiction and Educational departments and is responsible for finding and booking meeting or event space.
Q: Who pays for the things we do and have?
A: Our Subscribers and Members pay for it through subscription fees and donations. Occasionally we take outside donations as well.
Q: What's the difference between a Subscriber and a Member?
A: A subscriber is someone who does not donate the required amount of time or money to be a Member. A Member is someone who has donated 10 hours of their time or the equivalent funds based on the current Federal Minimum Wage. A Member can also vote on all issues and becomes eligible to become an elected official.
Q: What can I do to help?
A: We always need people to help with our parties at conventions, and to manage the club table for a few hours at conventions, and many other things. We also need donations to help put on our wonderful parties. If you want to help, chances are, we'll find something for you to do. We'd love to see all of our Subscribers become Members.
Q: Why is there no Alcohol at the Parties?
A: We are a family oriented group and try to provide an atmosphere suitable for all ages. Also by not spending our money on alcoholic beverages we are able to provide more and better food then just chips and dip.
Q: What is the purpose of I.S.S.?
A: To Educate, Socialize, Entertain, Promote education by focusing on Science and Science Fiction and have fun doing so!
Q: What do my subscription dollars go towards?
A: Many things, including Web Site domain registration, Web Site Software, Printing costs of publications and fliers, and various events, including the recruiting/promotion parties at conventions.
